Nerdle cup is simply a multi-player version of nerdle where players compete against each other head to head.
Before playing nerdle cup, you need to know how to play a single game of nerdle. If you haven't tried that yet, have a play at www.nerdlegame.com and you can read the full nerdle faqs here.
You can watch our how to play video here:
How does nerdle cup work?
Nerdle cup consists of a multiple nerdle games completed back-to-back (one after the other) and head-to-head (several players at the same time):
There are up to 6 points available for each challenge but you lose a point for every extra guess.
The winner is the player who has the most points (i.e. uses the fewest guesses) to complete the cup challenge.
But that's not all. There's a time limit to complete the games and, if points are tied, the winner is based on time.
First, someone needs to create a new cup game for a group of players.
Each cup game has a unique code.
The code is used by all the players to /b>join the same cup game.
The cup game starts for all the players at a fixed time and there is a time limit to complete the cup.
.
Then share the game code with the other players so they can join your cup game. Once you join the cup, you can see who has joined in the "waiting room" before the cup starts and you can see how players are doing during / after the game.
How do I join a nerdle cup competition?
You will need a game code to join a cup that someone else has created. Once you have that, visit cup.nerdlegame.com/join to join the cup game before the start time.
You will be placed in the waiting room until the cup competition starts. The timer will tell you how long you have, but note that the cup's creator can start the competition early in which case you'll only get a 10s warning!
What are the different cup game options?
When you create a nerdle cup, you have the following options for your competition:
Size: the type of nerdle game (classic, mini, micro).
Rounds: how many back-to-back nerdle challenges players have to complete.
Round time: how long players have per round before their time is up. Note that the time limit is applied overall rather than per challenge so 3 rounds and 2 minutes per round means there's an overall 6 minute time limit.
Start in: the time when the cup will start, ie. how long players have to join your cup before it starts. Note that the cup's creator will still be able to start the cup earlier when everyone is ready.
How do I see cup results?
You can see the results of a cup competition (while it is live or after it is finished) by visiting the cup results page and entering the unique game code.
How do I give feedback on the BETA version?
Nerdle cup is currently in 'beta', meaning that it might not be perfect. We'd love to hear from you if you find any problems or if you have any ideas for improvements. Please email us at contact@nerdlegame.com. Thanks!
